The elder Mrs. Campbell and her youngest son James Berry Campbell
moved from Tennessee to Washington Co AR, as memtioned in Goodspeed's
Memoirs of Northwest Arkansas. This would have been
after the death of Berriman Campbell.
Pioneer Families of Anderson Co TX states that Mrs. Campbell and
additional children moved to Arkansas after 1850. They first
settled in Pike County and later in Washington County.
"I am the great granddaughter of Jarret Campbell, born in
1828 in Jackson Co Ark. (Civil war record) He was the son of Ephraim
Campbell and Naomi... I can go back no further than a sheriff's
census in Arkansas in 1829. Ephraim was there with a William and
Jarrett. Brothers? or Father and two sons? Ephraim... died in 1843
and Naomi married a Nelson and was 44 in 1850. If he was 20 in 1828,
then he would have been around 35 when he died. That would make
his birth date around 1808."
