Being weak in body... to Agness Allen my dearly beloved wife, the one third of all my moveable estate and her maintenance on the land during her natural life; to Mary Osburn my beloved daughter, s 20; to Hannah Orr, my beloved daughter s20; to Catharine Allen, my beloved daughter one horse, saddle, two beds and bedding, two cows and calves, 23 pounds; to my beloved son John Allen, all that part of my plantation on which I now live, land near the School house, adjacent Hezekiah Alexanders; to George Allen my beloved son, all that plantation on McMichaels creek; to William Sample Allen, my beloved son the remainder of my land, and that his mother have her living off the same; my four youngest daughters Mildredge Allen, Agness Allen, Margaret Allen, Sarah Allen; if any should die before 20 years, divided among his surviving brothers... wife Agness, my son John Allen, and James Osborn my son in law, exrs.

Marriage records and children from each marriage seem to be mixed up in the source data from LDS.(1) Two other sources(3, 4) indicate that the John Allen, who married Mary Ann Butler, was a son of a Drury Andrew Allen — not the son of John Taylor Allen I.

Records indicate that John T. Allen, Jr. lived in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, in 1790, 1800, and 1814.(2) John's household appears in the 1810 and 1820 censuses of Rutherford County, North Carolina. In 1820, he lived besides Carter and Willis Allen.(1)

The will of John T. Allen, Jr. is dated Oct. 15, 2817.(1) The death date above may actually be this date of the will, with his death later than that.
